Controlled treatment of a high velocity anisotropic aquifer model contaminated by hexachlorocyclohexanes

چکیده

Abstract Xanthan gels were assessed to control the reductive dechlorination of hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs) and trichlorobenzenes (TCBs) in a strong permeability contrast high velocity sedimentary aquifer. An alkaline degradation was selected because low cost NaOH Ca(OH)2. The rheology xanthan their ability deliver alkalinity homogeneously, while maintaining latter, studied. Whereas behaved like non-Newtonian shear-thinning fluids, Ca(OH)2 microparticles had detrimental effects, yet, latter decreased with shear-rate. Breakthrough curves for solutions, carried out lowest soil (9.9 ?m2), demonstrated excellent transmission alkalinity, moderate pressure gradients applied. Injection velocities ranging from 1.8 3.8 m h?1 are anticipated field, given range 9.9 848.7 ?m2. Despite 8.7 an anisotropic aquifer model, both spread only 5- 7-times faster higher zone, demonstrating that delivery enhanced. Moreover, which injected into layer under lateral water flow, showed persistent blocking effect longevity (timescale weeks), solution absence xanthan. Kinetics on historically contaminated soil, using suspension solution, HCHs converted TCBs by dehydrodechlorination, whereas then degraded hydrogenolysis. Degradation kinetics achieved within 30 h major most reactive fraction HCHs.

a study on insurer solvency by panel data model: the case of iranian insurance market

the aim of this thesis is an approach for assessing insurer’s solvency for iranian insurance companies. we use of economic data with both time series and cross-sectional variation, thus by using the panel data model will survey the insurer solvency.

Model Creation by Velocity Controlled Surface Deformation

We present a scheme for the semiautomatic creation of 3D models through velocity-controlled surface deformations. Our surface representation consists of oriented points with volatile inter-neighboring point linkage. The surface is resampled in order to maintain an even distribution of points. Points created during resampling inherit their characteristics from their progenitors. Our surface repr...

Analysis of recharge-induced geochemical change in a contaminated aquifer.

Recharge events that deliver electron acceptors such as O2, NO3, SO4, and Fe3+ to anaerobic, contaminated aquifers are likely important for natural attenuation processes. However, the specific influence of recharge on (bio)geochemical processes in ground water systems is not well understood. The impact of a moderate-sized recharge event on ground water chemistry was evaluated at a shallow, sand...

Biodegradation of an alicyclic hydrocarbon by a sulfate-reducing enrichment from a gas condensate-contaminated aquifer.

We used ethylcyclopentane (ECP) as a model alicyclic hydrocarbon and investigated its metabolism by a sulfate-reducing bacterial enrichment obtained from a gas condensate-contaminated aquifer. The enrichment coupled the consumption of ECP with the stoichiometrically expected amount of sulfate reduced. During ECP biodegradation, we observed the transient accumulation of metabolite peaks by gas c...
